Ruto Commissions Ngong-Naivasha Flyover Ahead of Schedule in Nairobi

The KSh 3.58 billion Ngong Road-Naivasha Road flyover, built by Spanish firm Centunion S.A. with funding from a Spanish loan, spans 800 meters and promises to slash congestion by up to 60 percent at the busy junction near Junction Mall.

Construction started in September 2024 and wrapped up ahead of the July 2027 target, thanks to steady funding and preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ruto highlighted it as a boost for a modern capital, announcing more projects like a KSh 7.9 billion intelligent transport system, while supporters praised the delivery and critics pointed to similar past efforts funded abroad.

Early videos showed smoother traffic, though reports of parking and car washes on the structure drew calls for enforcement.
