Trump Declares U.S. Guardian of Hormuz Strait with 20% Cargo Toll

The move comes during a third night of U.S. attacks on Iranian military targets, including a first-time combat use of sea drones against a naval base at Bandar Abbas.

Trump accused Iran of breaking deals and vowed strong action, ensuring safe passage for all nations except Iran through the strait that carries 20% of global oil.

Iran's foreign minister sarcastically countered that Iran has long protected the waterway and called the toll too high, as tensions escalate from February strikes on nuclear sites that killed top leaders like Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
