Kenyan Lawmakers Demand Proof of MPs Selling Teacher Jobs

National Assembly Education Committee Chairperson Julius Melly urged teachers and jobseekers to submit documented complaints about irregularities in Teachers Service Commission hiring.

He dismissed informal distribution of employment letters as unprocedural, explaining that Parliament funds positions, then TSC advertises and recruits based on county needs.

The panel will seek clarification from Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and investigate only written, evidence-based cases amid ongoing recruitment for 20,000 junior school teaching posts.
