Lightning Strike Kills Family of Six in Uganda's Maracha District

The strike during a heavy downpour in Nyanza Cell, Oleba Town Council, set the house ablaze, leaving no survivors from the family of Mr. Amandu Geoffrey, 37; his wife Mrs. Enyaru Harriet, 31; and daughters Desira Patience, 8; Ayikoru Jovia, 7; Lekuru Blessing, 5; and Nassa Gilda, 1.5 years old.

Maracha District officials expressed deep sadness, offered condolences, and urged community support amid the grief.

Many in the area shared shock, prayers, and calls for lightning safety measures like conductors in vulnerable homes.
