U.S. Military Strikes Drug Vessel in Pacific, Kills Two

On August 23, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out a lethal strike on a vessel linked to drug trafficking along known narco routes, resulting in two deaths that officials called narco-terrorists.

SOUTHCOM released grainy footage showing the explosion and Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan emphasized it as proof of their commitment to dismantle cartel networks and protect the homeland.

This follows a June 21 strike in the Caribbean and fits into a U.S. campaign against trafficking vessels that started in September 2025.
