Wang Yi met
U.S. Ambassador David Perdue in Beijing on Wednesday to push for overcoming
obstacles in high-level exchanges, emphasizing implementation of leaders'
consensus, a positive agenda, and managing differences for stable ties.
The talks, described as productive by Perdue, covered preparations for Xi Jinping's planned September 24 White House meeting with President Donald Trump, following Trump's May visit to China.
Both sides stressed mutual respect, win-win
cooperation, fairness, and reciprocity to benefit their peoples and the world
amid ongoing risks in relations.
