Forest Service officers moved onto the historic Muthaiga Golf Club grounds, one
of Kenya's oldest courses dating to the 1920s, claiming 21.8 hectares as
gazetted Karura Forest land with no legal title for the club.
Club chairman Dennis Mwirigi called it an invasion, but access was restored later that day after board action, with a meeting planned for resolution.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accused President William Ruto of targeting the club politically, vowing to protect its pre-independence legacy amid calls for surveys and legal processes.
