Ukraine Hits Moscow Oil Refinery in Massive Drone Barrage

Ukrainian forces launched one of the war's largest drone and missile attacks into September 20, targeting the Gazpromneft-Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya and causing major fires that damaged processing units.

President Zelenskyy called it a significant blow to Russia's war machine, worth billions, while crediting Ukraine's security services for systems like FPV-1 and Pelican.

Russian officials reported downing over 1,600 drones, with two or three deaths and 20 injuries in the Moscow region; the refinery supplies much of the capital's fuel.
