U.S.
Central Command received orders days ago to finalize preparations for resuming
major operations in Iran, following a Camp David meeting of President Trump's
national security team. Potential strikes would target energy infrastructure,
key sites, and nuclear facilities, possibly in coordination with Israel, and
could happen before U.S. midterms on November 3 or Israel's elections the week
prior.
White House officials seek options to address high gas prices and demonstrate progress, though Trump has made no final decision and advisers debate timing and risks of escalation. Trump recently spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu twice about Iran amid stalled Qatar-mediated talks.
