Russian Missiles Kill Two in Kyiv, Hit Power Grid and Homes

Russian forces launched 39 ballistic missiles and over 120 drones at energy infrastructure in Kyiv, its region, and Kharkiv, damaging 26 power facilities and leaving 600,000 without electricity. The strikes killed at least two people, injured more than 20, and hit a residential building in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district, with no advance warnings from Western partners despite a recent U.S.-proposed energy ceasefire.

President Zelenskyy condemned Russia for rejecting de-escalation, called for more Patriot interceptors and U.S. sanctions, and noted Ukraine's retaliatory drone hits on Russian oil sites.
