The launch
marked the rebrand from The Equitable Party, with Sifuna proposing to cut Sh500
billion from the government budget to fight corruption and eliminate taxes on
fuel, electricity, and the housing levy.
Former
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua attended, pledging to serve as Sifuna's
campaign director if not chosen as the opposition's presidential candidate.
Allies like Trans Nzoia Governor George
Natembeya and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka joined, as the group plans a
National Delegates Convention on November 13 to name Sifuna its candidate and
expand offices across all 47 counties by December.
