The Trump administration imposed
sweeping sanctions on the International Criminal Court, prohibiting
transactions with the court and cutting off its access to banking, insurance, software,
and other services provided by U.S. companies.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the
measures. The sanctions follow U.S. objections to ICC investigations of
American personnel and arrest warrants for Israeli officials including Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
