U.S. Approves $2.1 Billion Patriot Missile Sale to Ukraine

The U.S. State Department greenlit a $2.1 billion sale of 500 advanced PAC-3 MSE Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine, funded entirely by allies like Canada, Germany, Norway, and EU loans no U.S. taxpayer money involved.

Zelenskyy called it a strong step that could build an effective defense package, but noted deliveries won't start for years amid over 30 Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in late October.

He urged partners to tap existing stocks now for the 2026-2027 winter and replenish later, as Ukraine sought around 100 interceptors monthly to counter immediate threats.
