Ghalibaf,
Iran's chief negotiator, said Tehran gave the US a firm, rational response amid
tensions following American strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, including on
Qeshm Island.
He warned that any US strategic mistake would
unleash an unpredictable Iranian retaliation without geographic limits,
targeting enemy assets.
Mediators are pushing indirect talks on sanctions, oil, frozen assets, and security, but a senior official noted wide gaps, with Iran insisting its conditions be met before reopening the vital strait and starting nuclear discussions. Both sides signal readiness for diplomacy yet hold firm red lines.
