NCBA Forum Tackles Kenya's Milk Shortages and 2027 Economic Outlook

The 2026 NCBA Economic Forum kicked off in Nairobi, focusing on sustaining economic resilience ahead of 2027 elections amid global tensions and domestic challenges like milk supply disruptions.

Despite a 20 percent rise in milk production and 34 percent increase in processor intake since the current administration, droughts have cut deliveries and driven up prices by Sh15 per packet in some areas.

Speakers projected Kenya's GDP growth slowing to 4.5 percent next year, urging private-sector collaboration, transparent finances, and measures like duty-free feed imports to bolster agriculture and investor confidence.
