Kenyan Man Killed Fighting for Russia in Ukraine, Body Found by Ukrainian Forces

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported discovering the body of 29-year-old Kenyan Clinton Nyapara Mogesa at a Russian position in Donetsk. He had signed a contract with Russian forces after brief training and died in a high-casualty infantry attack, with his body left unrecovered and no word or compensation for his family. Passports of two other Kenyans were found on him, amid warnings from Kenya's foreign ministry that over 200 citizens may have been lured by false job promises into fighting for Russia with minimal preparation. Kenyan media and social media shared his story, highlighting the risks of such recruitment networks targeting jobless youth.
