Ruto Invites Ol Kalou Residents to State House Dinner Before By-Election

William Ruto has called residents of Ol Kalou Constituency to State House in Nairobi on July 15 for a dinner and discussion on local issues, right before Thursday's parliamentary by-election to fill a seat vacated by a
MP's death.

Critics like activist Boniface Mwangi call it voter bribery, citing official invitations requiring ID and unverified claims of cash payments and large crowds.

The IEBC has cleared nine candidates, including UDA's Samuel Muchina Nyagah backed by Ruto allies and DCP's Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru-Ngotho supported by opposition figures, with campaigns now in a 48-hour silence period.

Supporters view the event as standard engagement to highlight development like dairy farmer payments, while the vote tests Mount Kenya influence ahead of 2027.
