U.S. Central Command conducts strikes on Iranian military targets after IRGC attack

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked the Cyprus-flagged container ship M/V GFS Galaxy in the Strait of Hormuz, causing engine-room damage, a fire, and leaving one crew member missing.

U.S. Central Command responded with a third round of strikes using precision munitions from aircraft, drones, and naval vessels, targeting approximately 140 Iranian military sites including missile and drone facilities, naval assets, ammunition depots, communication networks, and coastal radars.

The strikes aim to degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping amid Iranian claims of closing the strait, which U.S. Central Command rebuts by affirming it remains open to all vessels seeking lawful transit.
