Eldoret, following President Ruto's May 1 directive.
Wages are lower in smaller areas at KSh 16,650 or
KSh 9,268, with penalties of jail or fines for non-compliance amid rising 6.7%
inflation.
While many cheer the protection for over two million vulnerable workers, middle-class families worry about affording it, comparing it to intern teachers' KSh 17,000 pay and questioning enforcement in a sector rife with verbal deals.
