NTSA Revokes Nicco Movers License After Student Thrown from Matatu

Kenya's NTSA revoked Nicco Movers 1 Sacco's operating license immediately after a safety audit revealed unroadworthy vehicles, absent safety protocols, and lost management control.

 The action followed the June 5 death of student Eugene Mutuku, who suffered fatal injuries after allegedly being pushed from matatu KDV 713J over KSh 20 change; the vehicle then ran him over before being abandoned.

Two managers face charges for concealing evidence, while the driver and conductor remain at large, as police hunt suspects and commuters seek safer options on key routes.
