Gachagua's Democracy for Citizens
Party candidate Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru won the Ol Kalou parliamentary
by-election on July 16 with 35,440 votes against UDA's 5,450, marking DCP's
first seat in Nyandarua County.
During celebrations, the former deputy
president quipped in Kikuyu that he was so thrilled, 'If Pastor Dorcas had not
said no, by now we would be expecting another child.'
