During a massive service organized
by Owuor's Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, Omari cited the case of Peter
Oan, who he said tested HIV-positive, received Owuor's televised prayers, and
later tested negative after verification by the Directorate of Criminal
Investigations.
The lawyers, who previously
represented follower Millicent Awino in a similar healing dispute, demanded
apologies from TV47 and the Ministry of Health for doubting the claims.
Health authorities have warned against such
unverified healings amid Kenya's ongoing HIV efforts, while the lawyers'
support drew online accusations of shamelessness, though some defended their
right to represent clients.
