On Friday,
Ruto outlined over KSh 30 billion for Makueni County, including KSh 15 billion
for affordable housing and markets, KSh 2.7 billion for roads like
Emali-Matiliku already underway, and KSh 10.6 billion to finish the Thwake Dam
by April 2027 for irrigation, water, and power to 1.3 million people.
The
leaders, led by MP Mwengi Mutuse, pledged to join the ruling UDA party, leaving
Wiper to align with the national government and end political delays.
Healthcare and electricity also get boosts, with KSh 2 billion for hospitals and KSh 2.2 billion for rural power, signaling UDA's growing support in Ukambani ahead of 2027.
