Gachagua Accuses Police of Running Secret Gas Cylinder Raid Site

Gachagua claims an unauthorized police team, set up in June 2025 by Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat at a Hurlingham black site, raided small-scale LPG traders in Nairobi and nearby counties from June to October 2025.

Officers allegedly used private vehicles for arrests, extortion, and seizures of over 200,000 cylinders without proper records, diverting some to politicians' businesses.

He demands the site's closure, cylinder returns, trader compensation, and investigations into officials like EPRA's Joseph Oketch, amid his push with the Democracy for the Citizens Party. The allegations remain unverified by authorities.
