An audit from October 2024 to April 2025 uncovered KSh11 billion in fraudulent claims to the Social Health Authority (SHA), mostly from private hospitals billing for impossible scenarios like all caesarean sections or ghost patients. Duale clarified these were detected and rejected by SHA's AI system before payout, preventing losses, with rejections now at KSh11.6 billion and KSh1.8 billion under recovery through deductions. Over 40 facilities face sanctions, 118 cases went to police, and Duale vows to name culprits, while critics demand resignations over the claims and separate procurement issues.
