Putin Offers to Mediate Iran Nuclear Crisis Amid Deepening Russia Ties

Putin stated Russia is ready to help resolve the U.S.-Iran nuclear crisis, citing trustful relations with Tehran and hopes for a compromise.

This comes alongside a $25 billion Russia-Iran nuclear energy pact for power plants, first reported in September 2025 but now under scrutiny amid U.S. sanctions concerns.

The offer unfolds against a U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz since April, following Operation Epic Fury strikes in February 2026, as talks stall over Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles and control of the key oil route.
