The Kenyan government is upgrading
Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, implemented by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), to
serve as a match and training venue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Key improvements include expanding spectator capacity from 8,200 to 13,000-15,000 seats initially with a long-term target of 20,000, adding modern pavilions, high-mast floodlights, an all-weather Tartan athletics track, enhanced football pitch, secure parking, and improved sanitation facilities.
