Yemeni
intelligence reports that around 75 IRGC personnel arrived in Yemen since June
to enhance Houthi naval operations, missile and drone systems, command
structures, and surveillance evasion in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
One batch
of 25 landed on July 13 via a diverted Mahan Air flight from Sanaa, including
former ambassador Mohammad Jalal Firouznia.
The move bolsters Houthi capabilities amid
their ongoing shipping disruptions, as Iran supports the group while denying direct
control and Houthis reject the claims. Online views range from worries about
escalation to doubts on the experts' real effect.
