As
PLU chairman and Chief of Defence Forces, Kainerugaba announced plans for
endorsement rallies in all 146 Ugandan districts leading up to the 2031
elections, aiming for 90% of the vote. He'll attend the December 20 Kampala
event himself and follow with one in Gulu to reconnect with the north.
The league, aligned with the ruling NRM, has
built district structures and drawn crowds at recent local gatherings, with supporters
calling the Kampala rally the biggest in the country's history. This marks an
early test of their grassroots mobilization ahead of Kainerugaba's signaled
presidential run.
