Rigathi Gachagua Heads to US for Rest and Diaspora Meetings

Kenya’s former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party leader left on August 26, 2026, for a 10-day break in the United States to rest, re-energize, and spend quality time with his wife after months of nonstop work.

He plans initial days for meditation, prayer, reading, and family before visiting Kenyans in Spokane, Portland, Kansas, Dallas, and Boston over roughly two months. Gachagua described the trip as a personal recharge amid Kenya’s political buildup to the 2027 election.
