Houthis Ban Israeli-Linked Ships from Red Sea After Missile Strike

Yemen's Houthi rebels announced a full ban on ships linked to Israel navigating the Red Sea, calling them legitimate military targets.

The statement from spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree followed their claimed missile hit on Jaffa near Tel Aviv, which Israel intercepted without casualties.

Houthis tied the move to U.S.-Israeli actions against Yemen and allies, resuming attacks after a brief pause tied to the late 2025 Gaza ceasefire. The ban raises alarms for global shipping through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, a vital route for 12% of world trade.
