KBC Secures Free Broadcast Rights for 2026 World Cup in Kenya

The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) will air all 104 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live and free on Channel 1, after Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi confirmed government approval of around Sh150 million in funding.

The tournament starts June 11 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with matches also on pay-TV like SuperSport. Fans expressed huge relief online, though some worry about KBC's picture quality and late-night kickoffs for East Africa.
