Kenya Health Chief Rejects Public Input on U.S.-Backed Ebola Quarantine Site.

Duale told lawmakers the government won't seek citizen input on the quarantine site, one of 23 isolation units nationwide, citing the Public Health Act and Ebola risks from outbreaks in DRC and Uganda that have killed 61.

MP Ndindi Nyoro voiced widespread opposition, questioning why Kenya should host it when the U.S. has superior resources, while Duale urged unity to protect Kenyans.

Protests turned deadly in Nanyuki with road blockades and clashes, prompting a High Court order to halt construction and disclose deal details.
