Kenyans Can Now Download Birth Certificates Online

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced the update at Nyayo House in Nairobi, letting approved eCitizen applicants skip physical pickups after paying KSh 150-250 fees.

The change responds to public feedback from 2025 forums and aims to cut delays for essential documents needed for IDs, passports, and school.

While many praise the convenience, some raise fraud concerns over past ID issues, though officials rely on eCitizen's ID-linked verification.
