President William Ruto met EU Executive Vice-President Henna
Virkkunen in Brussels on Monday to announce €139 million in commitments for
Kenya's digital sector.
The funds include €102 million for digital transformation, internet
expansion, and job creation, plus €37 million to extend the Blue-Raman
submarine cable, which will lower bandwidth costs across East Africa.
These steps build on the EU-Kenya Economic Partnership Agreement, which has boosted Kenyan exports by over 20%, while Ruto positioned Kenya as a top spot for business outsourcing and investment during a business roundtable.
