President
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strike targeted the office of acting SBU chief
Oleksandr Poklad, injuring several people and drawing firefighters to the scene
on Volodymyrska Street.
The attack came amid days of Russian assaults on the capital and just before U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were due for peace talks, with observers calling it an effort to derail diplomacy.
Zelenskyy directed Poklad to prepare a mirrored response, backed by Ukraine's military, while Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha labeled it a major escalation rejecting talks.
